🏁 Sunday Night Skippy – Week 2 Standings Recap
Watkins Glen (Boot layout)
_”The Glen brings drama, and the standings reflect it.”
Two weeks in, the 12-round Sunday Night Skip Barber championship is already starting to take shape—and after a decisive win at Watkins Glen, Adam Miles now sits atop the leader board.
🏆 Miles Ahead
Adam Miles turned in a flawless drive in Round 2, leading 19 of the 25 laps and picking up maximum points with bonus credits for laps led and a podium finish. With 94 points, he jumps to P1 in the championship.
Hot on his heels is Sam Devantier, who added the fastest lap bonus to a P2 finish, keeping him in contention with 81 points. Bryan J Kelly is just a point behind in third, quietly building momentum after another solid result.
🔺 Biggest Movers
- Travis Shoemaker rockets up 10 positions into the top 10 after a breakout performance at the Glen.
- Karl Dronke climbs 7 spots to P4, showing Week 1 was no fluke.
- Steven Neal and Charles Hutto both made strong gains, solidifying their presence in the midfield.
🔹 Tough Breaks
- Pete Morboten was the biggest loser this week, falling 14 places after a rough outing that saw him finish well off the lead lap.
- Colby Mann, Week 1’s surprise winner, drops 13 positions to 14th overall after missing Round 2 entirely.
⚔️ Midfield Mayhem
Drivers sitting between P6 and P15 are separated by just 20 points, making every position count. The fight for top 10 honors is fierce, and one mistake—or one standout drive—could change everything.
⏩ Next Week: Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course
The series heads to Mid-Ohio, a track notorious for tight racing, tricky curbs, and punishing off-track excursions. Mistakes here are rarely forgiven, and passing opportunities are few and far between. Drivers will need to be both bold and patient—traits not always in abundance when championship points are on the line.
Expect intense battles, especially through The Keyhole and Thunder Valley, and watch for newcomers to make waves on a track that tends to reward technical precision.
