July 22, 2025 — The Bonfire Racing Series is on a roll. Off the track, it’s celebrating a landmark broadcasting deal that will bring its action to the masses. On the track, a furious and unpredictable championship battle is taking shape. Tonight, those two worlds collide as “Big Trucking Tuesday” heads to the one track that could define a season: the legendary Rockingham Speedway.
In a move that signals a new era of growth and professionalism, League Owner David Buelle has inked a deal with the Vortex Racing Network, securing a full-season broadcast for the Tuesday night series on YouTube. This, combined with Buelle’s innovative and wildly successful driver-funded sponsorship model which sold out instantly, has injected a massive surge of momentum into the league.
That momentum now meets the ultimate test of driver skill and survival at “The Rock.” Known for its abrasive, cheese-grater-like surface that devours tires, Rockingham isn’t a place for the faint of heart. It’s a strategist’s track, and with the championship standings this tight, every decision will be critical.
The title fight is as close as it gets. In a fascinating twist, broadcaster Joseph Vulpis leads the pack with 104 points, giving him the unique perspective of analyzing a championship he is actively trying to win. Hot on his heels is the architect of the league himself, David Buelle, sitting just two points back at 102. Right behind them is the consistent veteran David Owens in third with 94 points, well within striking distance.
This razor-thin margin at the top is a product of a season defined by thrilling parity. Through four races, four different drivers have celebrated in victory lane. The season began with a show of force from AJ Binish, who conquered Week 1 by leading 128 laps. Then came David Owens, who charged back from a major incident to win at Pocono. Week 3 saw Joseph Vulpis play the fuel game to perfection at Bristol, while last week belonged to sophomore Jaron Valley, who captured his first win with a last-lap pass in Atlanta.
The question now is, who can tame Rockingham?
History offers a few clues. If he enters the race, AJ Binish is a clear favorite, boasting a win and 84 laps led in three prior starts here. But don’t overlook David Owens, who has an incredible average finish of 3.0 at the track. And then there’s the historical data: two seasons ago, it was Matt Novela who charged from 12th to win, battling Vulpis (48 laps led) and Binish (34 laps led) in a classic brawl. The ultimate wild card remains Jameson Miller, a former track master with a staggering 136.0 driver rating here. His potential return could throw the entire championship picture into chaos.
Tonight is more than just a race. It’s a pivotal moment for the Bonfire Racing Series. With a new broadcast deal bringing more eyes than ever, and a championship fight this close, the battle at The Rock is set to be the most important of the season.
Fans can catch all the action live on the Vortex Racing Network, with the team of Zach Panzarella, “Mean Gene,” and Joseph Vulpis on the call.
