Behind The Rankings

To produce a repeatable ranking for the Moonlight Racing League (MRL) Xfinity Series, I looked at the last three races (R1–R3) of Season 7. Points were assigned based on finishing position. Races were weighted so that recent results have more influence:

• Finishing‑position points – 1st = 15, 2nd = 12, 3rd = 10, 4th = 8, 5th = 6, 6th = 5, 7th = 4, 8th = 3, 9th = 2, 10th = 1. Drivers outside the top 10 earned no points.
• Recency weighting – Race 6 (Dover, July 23) × 3; Race 5 (Texas, July 16) × 2; Race 4 (Daytona, July 9) × 1.
• Weighted score – Sum of (race points × weight). .

Power rankings – Top 10 drivers

Drivers with a dash (—) did not finish in the top 10 for that race.

Cream Of The Crop

• Matt Tucker – Consistency is king: he finished second in all three races, keeping his weighted score ahead of drivers with a win. This reliability makes him the current championship favorite.
• Collin Bollinger – After a sixth place at Texas, Bollinger captured the Dover win. His surge shows momentum heading into race 4 of the season.
• Kyle Ethier – Maintains pace with back‑to‑back third‑place finishes at Texas and Dover. A win would put him right with the leaders.
• Daniel Plant Smith – Earned the Texas victory but did not finish in the top 10 at Dover, indicating some inconsistency. Still, his win keeps him near the front.
• Nathan Mowrer – Quietly strong with fifth‑place finishes in the last two races; he needs a podium to challenge for the top spot.
• Scotty Estep – Jumped onto the radar with a fourth‑place finish at Dover. Future results will determine if this was a one‑off or the start of a trend.
• Joseph Vulpis – Started the three‑race window with a Daytona podium but slipped to eighth at Dover. Consistency will be key.
• Alex Mcquarter – Two consecutive top‑ten finishes (8th at Texas, 7th at Dover) show steady progress.
• Andrew Bolander – Finished fourth at Texas but has no other recent top‑10 results. More strong runs are needed.
• Rayshaun Winkfield – Sixth at Dover earns him the final spot in the top ten, but he did not feature in the previous two races.
