As the inaugural — and final — season of the PRO/AM wraps up this Sunday, it feels like the perfect moment to reflect. Season 13 was a fantastic summer run.

This marks the end of my second season as acting Admin in just one year, and I look back on the experience with nothing but gratitude. In this short time, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting two drivers in person, and connecting with many more of you through Discord and other unexpected avenues.

This role has taught me a lot about myself. I’ve discovered just how deeply passionate I am about this community and our league — sometimes too passionate. That’s part of why you will less of me on Sunday mornings going forward. For the past three years, I’ve set my alarm for 5:30 a.m. PST to prepare for race day. It became a ritual I cherished, with my whole week building toward the excitement of Sunday.

But over time, I realized I was spreading myself too thin. I had so many ideas and poured energy into all of them — from broadcasting and driver cams, to my own stream, KK Woodscapes trophy-making, and even launching the very website you’re reading this on. It was rewarding, but also overwhelming.

So, I want to thank everyone I’ve had the privilege to work with, race alongside, or simply chat with. I’m not disappearing — I’ll still be around — but I’m choosing to focus on a few key things instead of trying to do it all.

PRO Series Championship Preview

With the swan song out of the way, it’s time to focus on what’s at stake this Sunday — the grand finale of our season.

All eyes are on the final showdown between David Medina Sr. and Jason Landry. These two have been locked in battle all year, with Landry riding high after securing the last three wins. Medina, meanwhile, is coming off a tough outing at Richmond, making his climb to the top a steep one.

Here’s the math: if Medina takes the win and sweeps every available bonus point, Landry would need to finish 18th or worse to lose his lead. On paper, that’s a tall order — but Medina brings serious superspeedway credentials to the table, with 25 career starts at these tracks compared to Landry’s 8.

Below, we break down their superspeedway résumés to see how experience might tip the scales in this high-stakes finale.

As you can see David has made it to the checkered flag first 4 times. But Jason Avg. finish of 7.9 has him looking comfy to take home another piece of hardware this season.

AM Championship Preview

The AM championship is up for grabs as Ricky Mandella Sr. And Jose Medina are the two drivers battling it out to take home the AM Championship this season. Here is a Quick tale of the tape between the two drivers.

Both drivers have been carrying incredible momentum into the finale — not just in this league, but in other series we’ve covered as well. This is a battle worth watching closely.

Jose Medina faces a steeper climb than the driver who he shares a last name with. For him, the math is simple but unforgiving: if Jose takes the win and sweeps every available bonus point, Ricky Mandella Sr. would need to finish 19th or worse for the championship to slip away.

The wildcard? We won’t know the exact stakes until we see how many drivers roll onto the grid for the Season Finale. Once the green flag drops and the laps wind down, it will all come down to where the cards fall when the checkered flag waves over Season 13 for the very last time.

Final Thoughts

As it stands, while scrolling through SimRacerHub. Team FOCM trails Gulf Coast Racing by 30 points in the team standings. It may not shape up to be the nail-biting championship battle we’d all hoped for, but this season has absolutely lived up to its name.

I’m proud of every driver who showed up and gave it their all. Without that level of participation, the scoring system we introduced this summer wouldn’t have worked nearly as well — and its success was built on your commitment.

Now, it all comes down to one last race. The PRO, AM, and Team Championships will each be decided when the checkered flag falls on Season 13. One more race. One more shot. One more for the road.
